Class Preparation

Prepare for a pleasant experience.

Preparing your mat and camera for class can be frustrating, however it is important to take the time to reveal your entire body. Properly light yourself by considering your light source. Place your mat facing a light source with your camera facing you. You can enhance the class experience by mirroring or connecting via HDMI to a large screen TV or monitor. However, if your practice space or screen size is limited, just do the best you can. Once you have your mat and camera in the perfect spot, remember it to save time preparing for your next class. If you need a belt or blocks, have them nearby. Logging in to class 10-15 minutes early is always encouraged so we can start class on time.

Reduce your stress.

Overbooking your life can cause time restraints and stressful moments. Please avoid being late to class and leaving early. If leaving class early is unavoidable, take rest for at least 5 minutes before leaving.

Gifts from my students—

“Know that for me, you are my Yoga Mom. Thank you for this amazing gift. It has become invaluable as I struggle to overcome a bad back. I think without yoga, I would be somewhat crippled. You’ve made a big difference in at least this one life!” —SL

“I want you to know that without you, I wouldn’t be the yogi I am today. You are the teacher who I compare everyone else to. The person I hear in the back of my head when I’m being ‘lazy’ and need to push myself.” —NM

“You have been such an inspiration at key moments for my Ashtanga practice. I look forward to keeping in touch—and will always be so grateful for your support and inspired and generous work!” —HD
